Milk Rava Kesari Recipe is a rich and tasty kesari made with milk, sugar and roasted sooji/rava. Milk Kesari is so simple and easy to make just like any other Kesari. For Milk Kesari, Rava/sooji is cooked in water whereas for Milk Kesari, we cook rava/sooji in milk. Both taste delicious. Try out this eay to prepare recipe which is also called as sooji halwa with milk during poojas and on festival occasions.


  1. Heat a pan with 1 table spoon ghee and fry the nuts
  2. Set them aside
  3. In the same pan, add rava and fry until crunchy. Stir it often to prevent burning.
  4. Take off rava from the pan and keep it aside in a plate or bowl
  5. Now to the same pan, add sugar, water and milk.
  6. Crush saffron and add to milk along with cardamom powder
  7. Allow to boil on a medium heat.
  8. Make sure the sugar and saffron dissolves by stirring the milk a few times.
  9. Reduce the flame to low
  10. Now add the fried rava to the mixture
  11. Keeping stirring constantly with other hand to prevent lumps
  12. Cook covered until the moisture is absorbed
  13. Add 1 tablespoon ghee and mix well
  14. Allow to cook to 2 to 3 minutes
  15. Switch off stove
  16. Serve milk rava kesari hot or warm.
  17. Garnish with cashews.
